Fish for Hunger raised over $300,000!

Our annual charity campaign, in partnership with OneCard, raised over $300,000 by users playing Fishing Bot! $310,785 to be exact…a whopping $74,000 more than last year’s campaign.

By ‘fishing for hunger’, you raised money for Action Against Hunger and Islamic Relief.

Over the past three years, our users have raised nearly $800,000 for a range of charities. This year we decided to focus on fighting world hunger, as it seemed relevant at a time when a lot of our users were fasting while participating in Ramadan.

Islamic Relief Worldwide are using the funds to help support its on going provision of food packages to those affected by the humanitarian crises in Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.

Action Against Hunger will be focusing on supporting children at risk of hunger in India, which has the largest number of children suffering from malnutrition in the world, with over 8 million children under 5 at risk from life-threatening hunger. Our money will help fund an ambitious programme designed to work with local partners and help India become a world leader in the fight against child hunger.

We want take this opportunity to say a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone that played Fishing Bot during the campaign and for everyone who refilled and chummed our way to $310,785!! We’ve been blown away by the positive response and look forward to growing the concept even more next year.

We will keep you updated on the projects that we are supporting over the next few months.
